Developing the Grahame Park estate
Establishing GPS formalises the role and support for the Community and Economic Development Strategy, from key local partners who take a role in coordinating a theme in the strategy. GPS is fundamentally important in providing a strategic approach to joint working and pooling resources for community and economic development activity in Grahame Park. Bringing lead coordinating organisations together to coordinate activity contributes to:
- Avoiding duplication
- Providing integrated community and economic development activities
- Value for money
- Information that is accessible to all
The purpose of GPS is to:
- Contribute to a strategic overview of community and economic development activity in Grahame Park.
- Contribute to joint working on the delivery of the Grahame Park Community & Economic Development Strategy.
- Help to identify resources to support the delivery of the strategy, once it is clear what existing resources are available and where the gaps are.
- Develop practical ways to strengthen joint working in the neighbourhood, including contributing to the following:
- Developing shared monitoring systems where possible and appropriate
- Data sharing
- Evidence of need
- Shared marketing and communication
- Help to develop the foundation for consortium bids to lever in external funding to support community and economic development activity.
